Colorado is known for its mountainous terrain, plethora of national parks, the high plains and its populated city of Denver. This myriad of environments gives Colorado intricate forests and a variety of wildlife in addition to an urban lifestyle in a major US city. Home to over 5 million people, Colorado has one of the most unique geographies and climates in the US. However, as a focal point of US distribution, Colorado suffers from drug trafficking and distribution. Drugs from both Mexico and Canada are funneled through Colorado through Mexican and Asian trafficking organizations. Marijuana from Mexico constitutes one of the most widely abused drugs in the state. A highly potent form of marijuana called "BC Bud" is a commonly smuggled drug from Canada through Colorado. The Asian trafficking organizations play a large role in "club drug" smuggling bring drugs such as LSD and Ketamine into Colorado. The DEA reports in Colorado indicate that prostitution and and violence are commonly associated with these drug traffic organizations which gives Colorado one of the highest crime rates for its population.
